Army National Guard (ARNG) Programs
Army National Guard (ARNG) Programs
Along with your monthly drill pay and allowances, the Army National Guard offers a generous array of federal and state educational benefits that can help pay those school bills. In the Guard, you can receive the funding you need for your education while gaining the experience of a lifetime.
- Your ARNG Education Support Center (ESC) can help you and
your spouse reach your academic goals by providing education counseling, military
credit evaluation, and college degree planning.
- Once you complete your basic and advanced individual training, you may become eligible for Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA). FTA can supplement your Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) benefits to cover up to 100% of tuition and fees. The Plus-Up MGIB contribution allows mobilized Guard members to increase their contributions to MGIB by up to $600 and thereby increase their total benefit by $5,400.
- The Army American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) provides eligible service members with transcripts that combine military education, training, and experience with credit recommendations developed by the American Council on Education (ACE).
- The Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) can also help
guide you in earning a degree and obtaining financial aid.
