Soldiers’ Angels |
With 35,000 members worldwide, Soldiers’ Angels supports all branches of the military. Soldiers’ Angels “adopts†service members, supports combat support hospitals (CSHs), and hands out backpacks containing much-needed items to the wounded at both CSHs and military hospitals. It also manages numerous other programs, including one through which donors can purchase Kevlar blankets for the troops. These blankets can be attached to the doors and floors of unarmored Humvees to protect against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and direct fire.

The Toolkit is a standardized pre-deployment and mobilization handbook with separate sections containing a wealth of information on benefits, deployment assistance, checklists, finances, family program management, volunteer management, and much more. This information is relevant to commanders, service members, family members, and family readiness program managers. The document lists Web sites and toll-free telephone numbers for financial assistance, medical treatment questions (TRICARE), and other key resources especially crucial during deployments.
