Family Assistance Centers (FACs) are considered “one stop shopping” for Military Members and their families.
The FACs are established in times of contingency call-up, mobilization, and large-scale deployment to provide support and assistance to Service members and their families. They are intended to simplify the process of accessing needed services and support for families called to active duty for an extended period of time. The primary mission of any FAC is to inform and emotionally support families so the military member can perform his or her mission.
Who is eligible to receive
services through an FAC?
All military members called to active duty and their
families are eligible to receive assistance. No military
personnel or his/her family should be turned away
from a FAC regardless of branch affiliation.
What services are provided
by an FAC?
Basic services provided by a FAC are Information, Referral, Follow-up and Outreach. These include:
- ID Cards/DEERS
- TRICARE/TRICARE Dental
- Financial Assistance
- Legal Assistance
