The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) recognized an emerging need to provide informal support to soldiers and families in addition to the resident counseling services.

The Soldier Family Life Consultants (SFLC) program is out and will be dedicated to providing seamless; in place centralized support, for as long as it may take, to make sure that

service members and their families achieve the highest level of functioning and quality of life possible.

SFLC will engage all National Guard service members or the family member and help them understand what benefits are available.
